    7 or 9 LEAF?

I have a '73 L82 4spd with a std 3.55 axle. It has "heavy duty" straps on threaded yokes vs. U-bolts.

Is a 7 or 9 leaf spring correct for my car? I removed a broken 9 leaf spring from my car, but I just want to make sure before I replace it.

I do not have the Z07 off road suspension. Calipers are not double pin and I have an M20 trans. No build sheet yet.

    Thanks for the help,
    Chris

    Re: 7 or 9 LEAF?

Have you looked at the text of the '73-74 Judging Guide? It says only FE7/Z07 optioned cars received the HD 7-leaf rear spring. Z07 (off road suspension & brakes) were offered in both years and you said your car was not Z07 equipped. The FE7 option (gymkhana suspension) debuted in '74, so it wasn't factory available in '73...

That leaves you with the standard 9-leaf rear spring.
