    1967 Original Mats? Help?

I got a pair of clear (now little yellowed) mats from a friend of mine. He thinks they may be original mats for a midyear. They cleaned up extremely well with some lestoil and warm water. They are much thicker than the reproduction mats I got from Corvette Central for my 67 coupe. My friend has had them for almost 20 years. He took them out of a 63 coupe he owned many years ago. I know him well and believe him.
Is there a way to tell between reproduction mats and originals? I see no discernable part numbers or other distinguishing signs. They have no rips, tears, stains, etc. Just a little yellowed. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....ARA

Ara, as far as I know, mats did not come with the car from the factory. They are most likely a Dealer installed item at extra cost of course. Bill.

Thanks Bill. Appreciate the insight. I just am trying to figure out if they are older reporoductions or GM units from back in the day. Judging by your member number you and I joined around the same time. I hope you are enjoying NCRS membership as much as I am. This is one great organization......

the dealer installed mats were thicker, less pliable and yellowed more than the repos. i'm not aware of any repos being manufactured that even came close to the dealer installed puppies. sounds like you have a pair from your buddy. ike

Thanks Mike and Pancho for the posts. I am thinking they are original dealer units. Have NO idea what I should give my buddy for them... Again, thanks for the posts....ARA

For what it's worth, I have what are purported to be an original set of "clear" floor mats - now very yellow. On the bottom side, nearest the seat when installed, are embossed RMP 1713 1 on the driver's side mat and RMP 1714 1 on the passenger side mat.
