Did my 67 come this way from the factory?

It's a 67 L79, no a/c, no ps. It has a 2 groove pulley. Can see the advantage in case the alt belt goes, but my question is, did some 67's come this way? Thanks, Bill.

yes, two groove pulley on crank and water pump.

Remove the fan and clutch so you can pull down the pulley to slip the belt on. Pulling the pulley back over the pin on the pump shaft may require a little leverage against the crank pulley.

I have always loosened the fan bolts and slipped it over the pulley.

Peter, I think you will find the correct sized belt will not slip over till you lower the water pump pulley some. The belt if it just slips over will be too loose to drive the pump without slippage at high RPM.
