P01 or P02's When the Change?

I have an orginal early 68 SN# under 10,000. The car was optioned with PO1's. Can anyone shed a little light on as to when in the model year when the tapered fin was replaced by the more squared fin. I know all the written material says 1969 is when the P02 was used. Was the tapered fin only used in early production. I believe that I have the original wheel covers that came on the car and they are squared off fin.

Jack I can tell you that I have seen a few original cars some in the teens and a few in the twenties with there original wheel covers on them and they were PO1's. Paul 18046
