    1965 Parking Lamp Wires

I was looking at my wires on my parking lamps because I was marked off on a regional meet for configuration because my white wire is separate from the other two wires (outside the sleeve). In reviewing the archives I discovered a link discussing that these left the factory that way. Could somone please explain what the story was with these lamps. Maybe I could save a few points next time!!!!!!!

There were several of these "odd" parking lamps used during the 64-66 time period. Some had white while others had green external ground wires.

          Mike,
Were the external ground wire lamp assemblies from a secondary source supplier or an alternate design? You refer to them as "odd" which makes me feel the usage is rather unusual. Is there a year/time to be concern weather the green or white wire is used? I have not come across a real original car that had this wiring ground lamp assembly. Interesting post........

Also would be interesting to see how the single wire is integrated into the round connection that passes thru the inner fender to mate to the wiring harness.

The end that plugs into the round connector at the fender skirt looks the same as a typical production lamp. I have some pic's here somewhere of that end and I'll post if I can find them.

The whole deal is kind of a secret and I know of only one other person today that knows the story on this.

These external wire lamps ARE correct assembly line parts that were mixed in with conventional wire lamps and should be judged as such.

I don't know why some used green external wire and others used white.
