    Dropping the body tomorrow

Wish me luck. These pictures were taken BEFORE I went over the chassis with the Quanta chassis paint kit.

Once the body is on, I'll do another "story" on the other vette web page and link to it so you can all see lots more pictures. I bet I shot 50 pictures today alone.

Good Luck Chris, your project looks beautiful. I'm at the almost the same point your are with my 1964 convertible. Here is a picture. And no, the battery, radiator, and temporary wooden radiator support won't be staying. I rigged all that up so I could out some time on the motor before putting the body on.

Neat stuff! It's amazing to me how many people are doing a restoration on midyears these days.

Your project caught my eye because it looks as though we have made some similar decisions regarding (over) detailing. For instance, no overspray paint on the exhaut manifolds. Have you tried to put grease in the upper ball joints yet? They appear to be the same repros as mine and I found most of the grease comes out on the top of the control arm between the ball joint cap and body. Just wonder if you have the same issue or it's a problem with my install.

Yup, I had the same problem with the grease. I really had to hold the grease gun down on the ball joints. Then, when I went to take it off, IT WOULDN'T COME OFF!!!! (darned thing) I really had to pull to get it to come off.

Regarding the upper ball joints, I had the same problem. I purchased from Long Island, they referred me to the manufacturer. He told me they were "greaseless" and the grease zert was for looks only. Don H.

Maybe this has been asked before but can you post close up pictures of the body lifting device and the dimensions? Thanks
