Any good photos of an original 69 L46 Engine bay?

I was looking for some photos of a correctly detailed or original 1969 L46 engine bay.

Primarily looking for photos of rear firewall area to verify vacuum hose and wire routing / dressing.

    Thanks

    Bump.

Even 70 L46 or LT-1? Looking for detail on vacuum hose routing And wire dressing on firewall area.

I'm not even close at this point. I know some route behind Washer pump, others do not, dressing and routing etc.

    Thanks

If you will settle for 1970 LT1. I have posted some of these before,a nd the site software will not allow me to post the same photo a second time.

John - I consider my 69 L46 as fairly original (although I have never assessed it in great detail as I purchased the car only a year ago and mainly drove the heck out of it the first year). I will make photographs this weekend of the firewall area - any specific area's you would like to study?

My only caveat is that in researching cars with respect to my own 71, I found that there were differences in layout as the model year went along. I would not do more than "generalize" if you're using a 1970 like Terry's even if his is an early car. I looked at 71's for a few years, taking pictures of each, to give me enough info to restore my 71's engine compartment back in 1996.

Keep looking for 69s. Check ebay and Google images, too.

Re: Any good photos of an original 69 L46 Engine bay?

I have a very late 69 (18th prior to end)

I'm specifically looking for Vaccum Hose and wire dressing on the firewall in these 2 specific areas.

              1. Which Vacuum hoses route behind wiper motor, which do not
and proper looping and or dressing of the rest?

              2. How is the wiring dressed and routed in relation to the vacuum hoses?

Mostly the vacuum wiring question. In haste I routed them all infront of the wiper motor and see from the AIM that some are wired behind.

This was obviously done is stages so certain hoses attached first, before or after wiring and before or after washer lines etc.

I can get close and research some correct cars when I get done and get her in the grass but I need to nail down question number (1) as there's labor involved with that one.

              Thanks

Have not taken any pictures lately, but I do have a '69 350/350 which is a low mileage, untouched original, fairly late ser. #(307xx),that I ordered in Feb. '69. (car was gold certified at Bloomington in the 80's) Car should be a definitive example for you, but who knows? Strange things were happening that year, what with the strike, and all- I tried to order an LT-1,as they were supposed to be available, but that did'nt happen, and my order was canceled, and I had to start all over again, and did'nt receive the car until the last of Oct!
If you have'nt found the info. yet, I would be glad to take and post pictures of the firewall area for you.

Mr. Storrer, that would be outstanding. Several engine bay shots would be very much appreciated. (vacuum hose routing from several angles on the firewall without the air cleaner on especially) and as many different shots and details you can take.

E-mail would be great, not only would I like to see it for the correct detail, I'd love to see the car and hear the story behind a one owner example of a 69 L46. (so toss in a couple Glamour shots)

Those original, one owner, untouched cars are worth their weight in Gold as examples to us restorers.

I'll make you a deal, if you e-mail them, I'll post them as I know there's a few L46 guys on here that would love to see them.

                  Thanks a heap!

Ok - here we go: comments are appreciated for me to learn where stuff is not correct or typical. This is my L46 convertible # 19211 (H15 build date).

Great pictures Thank you very much it really helps. If I could continue to trouble you how about some shots of the rest of the engine bay and the routing of lines along the drivers side fender and up to the front end.

That helps me a bunch. Several observations out of that. Much more liberal with the Tie Wraps than I thought, filiment tape on the small air valve, lots of good stuff.

They must have moved the Window actuator relay to the driver side firewall very late in the year then.

Also interesting that there's virtually no overspray on the Bellhousing.

Thanks again, this is nice to see.

Is this example virtualy untouched? What is it's history?
