I thought the all time best selling sports car was the Mazda Miata. But after looking into it they have only made 800,000 of there little 2 seater. So that puts the Corvette on top as the best selling sports car ever ? Stewy

Re: Chevrolet makes it's 1,500,000 Corvette
Here they are: one of the first, HafMil (1977), 1,000,000 and the 1.5th!
800,000 for such a short production time (compared to more than 50 years "in our case") is not too bad, either......Attached Files- Top

Don't know how you want to count things, but Mustang sold over a million in the first two years....nice little car, but sports car it isn't. In later years it got closer to being a contender in my opinion (Boss 429, etc).Chris Enstrom

Re: Chevrolet makes it's 1,500,000 Corvette
Yes it has taken 50 years but it's the Corvette that is on top. Chevrolet must keep hitting the sweat spot. There have been 700,000 911 Porsches made. That is a massive achievement. These German built cars are generally worth double of the Corvette base model. That's huge numbers for an exclusive few. They do make a great car but at a cost. It looks like the Corvette has cemented itself in the best selling sports car forever. Stewy- Top
