'68 Center A/C - Wiper Bezel

I have been seeing ads on E-Bay that say that the center bezel for the Air Conditioning and Wipers was unique to the '68. I did not see any mention of this in the JG or the archives.

After looking at several A/C cars on E-Bay, I noticed that this bezel seems to have a 1 piece chrome vent. My car currently has 2 individual vents as pictured below.

Which is correct for a C-60 car, and does anyone have any pictures of the correct bezel and vent?

Also, if mine is incorrect, what years is it for?

I don't recall seeing a 68 Corvette with air conditioning. My 70's center air conditioning vent has two rotating vents like yours.

Kurt Bunting has a 68 with factory air.

I had the same center vent/bezel in my 68 and had been told, by several people, it was incorrect. With the correct bezel the vent is one single chrome piece and the indicators for the wiper switch are not illuminated, they are cast into the bezel. The wiper switch bezel with A/C is very difficult to find. If you're interested in a place to get one send me a message and I'll fill you in. Be prepared to pay $$$$.

Picture number three shows the contour of the driverside duct which is also a hard piece to find.

So it appears that the deflector (that I thought was chrome) is part of the actual center duct, and that the deflector comes through the bezel.

Does that mean that I have a bezel from a non A/C car?

This also means that if I accumulate the right parts, I have to take the interior apart again..........UUUUGH!!!

I would love to know what people do to these cars over 40 years!!!
