A friend of mine is looking at a 91 ,six speed , 30,000 mile ,one owner car. I do not have any idea what c-4 values are. Can you give me a range of what he might pay for it? He also mentioned the car is supposedly loaded.

Re: What is a 91 worth
The good - low miles, manual, newer interior.
The bad - last year of the L98 (meaning lower horsepower).
There are certain C4s that have collector potential in the long term (note I am not saying investment potential as few cars can achieve that), the 91 L98 is not one of them. In order of collectibility I would rank C4s this way:
- Late ZR-1s (93-95) with the 405HP motor (especially with the Dunn heads)
- Challenge Cars (stock cars but produced for the Challenge Cup racing series)
- Certain Calloway C4s
- Early ZR-1s (90-92) with the 375HP motor
- Grand Sports (high collectible now but history always shows paint and tape specials to fall from favor over the long haul in favor of HP)
- Collector Edition LT4s (330HP - same as the Grand Sport)
- The rest of the LT4s
- LT1 cars (300 HP - 92-96, auto only in 96)
- L98 cars (230 to 250HP - newer being better - this is where your friends 91 fits)
- L83 cars (1984 only - 205HP - lots made, good cars but relatively slow, Z51 handling package is great for autocrossing though)
Of course there are other outliers like low serial number 84s which may bring some premium, but this is my overall view.1967 L71 Silver/Black Coupe - Unrestored/Original Paint, Top Flight at 1998 Regional in Ontario, not judged since

Re: What is a 91 worth
Assuming this car is a coupe, and not a convertible or ZR1.
10K to 11K in the current market based on a car that is in good condition with no issues. If it is truly a loaded car and maybe a special color like quasar blue, yellow, steel blue, or maybe charcoal. It might bring a "touch" more.Tom Hendricks

What is a 91 worth? Not much.............As far as investing in C4'S I think you would be better off putting your money under your mattress. That is not to say there aren't a few rare and desireable C4'S.- Top

Re: What is a 91 worth
Assuming that the car is spotless, I would not count on much more than about $10K, probably closer to $8.5.

Ted Hendricks values may be skewed slightly high, due to the fact that he is associated with a Chevy store that carries a lot of respect from Corvette enthusiasts. When your dealership has a very, very, good name, prices can sometimes be expected to run a little higher.
In my neck of the woods (Tulsa, Oklahoma) low horsepower C4s are dead in the water. In the past six months, I've seen some decent late 80s, with low horse engines (mileage 60K and up) offered for a little over 5K. I passed up an '88 with little under 10,000 miles, and dead-on original for $10K.
I think Mark's 8.5 estimate is pretty safe.

Re: What is a 91 worth
9 to 10K would be a fair price if the car is loaded , with that original mileage ,make sure the paint is good , check the seats for any rips, make sure everything is working including the bose radio, as was stated if its a ZR-1 is would be worth a lot more.... wouldnt hurt to carfax it.- Top
