I've focused so far on making sure the car is roadworthy so I can enjoy it the remainder of the summer and plan on starting the restoration in ernest over the winter. Since it's my first time doing this I was curious if there is a good basic plan of attack or just to flow where time and budget takes you.

The highest priority for "attack" are those items which affect safety and the reliability of the car. I would not drive a car until I had those items taken care of.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: General Plan of Attack
Joe,
Thanks for the response. I'm just about through with the items you mentioned. Should have that wrapped up this month. I'm curious about whether it's best to start on the engine and engine bay first or on the interior. I didn't know if expierenced restorers had a particular approach to the process.
Thanks,

Re: General Plan of Attack
Knowing what I know now, I would work from the outside in. If doing a body off, that first, (if painting, do that when all the chrome is off). then drive train, suspension, wheels, exterior body and windshield. Get the really dirty stuff out of the way first. Then interior, dash pad, doors, rugs, seats. I would do the soft top and interior (rugs and seats) last since you'll be in and out of that car a million times and under the dash a million times so no use beating up a new interior or a new top.- Top
