On the fiberglass they used the spring clips with a phillips head screw. This area gets hot and the original finish I think is long gone as they look dark colored and rusty on original cars I have taken apart. If their is a nice original 72 in the cars at San Jose I will let you know what it has and the type head.

The cars I seen today 70-72 had round head phillips cad plated. Thease were restored cars. Their could be a displayed Bowtie car when everything is setup.

Ed the normally seen screw is Phillips head but the head size is smaller then what is normal size for that size screw thread. The finish is of higher zinc more towards the chrome but not chrome. Some parts suppliers sell the correct style screws and others don't. The head of the screw is not perfectly round and is some what counter sunk so it is not conspicuous when installed. Hope that helps. Paul 18046

              Hi Kevin,
I just took a first look at your BOWTIE album.
WOW!!!! What a lot of work you've done to put that together.
LOTS of answers to often asked questions.
Your album along with Patrick's are a wonderful resource.
