    64 frame question

I am restoring a 64 corvette frame. I am now at the point of putting all of the correct markings back on to the frame, I know most of them and where they go but I am trying to find out what need to go on the differential. If you can let me know that would be a great help. I am also trying to find a good site that could show me a correct 64 frame thats been restored if no of any let me no.

    Thanks Ryan

    Re: 64 frame question

Hi Ryan, glad to see you're still ponding away at the 64. We just had a thread on rear suspension painting, was all black with runs and sags etc. The frame itself will have crayon marks for each shim location, a pull date and vender part number. The NCRS store has some excellent books on the subject with pictures of finished frames. Remember on a 64 most of the suspension was painted black before it was attached to the frame. Also, there was two different part numbers on the frame depending on whether it had the rear 'gusset' added to rear kick up area or not. See the AIM for the two numbers and the gusset locations.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Here are some markings I found when cleaning the rear end, 64. Note the black which I believe saved those paint marks. If you order a paint kit from Quanta make sure you ask for the earlier frame number, 3843361, if that's what you need.
