I just had my 67 judged at Bloomington and received a deduct because the screen for the windshield washer bottle was not brass. I seem to remember someone on the driveline advertizing these but cannot find it now. Does anyone know who sells these? Thanks in advance.

Re: Brass screen
Ok, so where is that brass screen installed? Do you have an A/C car and we're talking about the BAG style of washer reservoir?
When I took my car apart, I don't remember seeing any screen installed inside the washer reservoir.Chris Enstrom

Re: Brass screen
The screen is on the black plastic nipple on the hose that's submerged in the washer fluid; the original nipples had a brass screen, and the reproductions and service replacements have a stainless screen.- Top

Re: Brass screen
John, thanks for the clarification. Does this fall under the guidelines of what judges are SUPPOSED to remove to judge a car? (like air cleaner, and ignition wiring cover)Chris Enstrom

Re: Brass screen
Rick, 5 points does seem like a lot but that is out of about 9000 points available so its not as bad as it sounds. I was very happy with the judges, which were tough but fair, and how the car did.- Top

Re: Brass screen
If you recall, ALL of the deductions at Bloomington are 5 point increments. There are no 1/2/3/4 etc levels of deduction. Only 5/10/15, etc. So, the "smallest" deduction is 5 points.
