Water Pump and Intake fitting sealing 70-L46

Should I apply some type of sealant on the fittings for either type of screw in fitting?

The fitting I am most concerned with is the vacuum fitting that screws in to the intake where the PB line attaches.

    Thanks,

    Bill

    Bill,

Most tapes or sealants will show.
The factory didn't use any. If I remember, the fitting you mention has a slight taper so it will eventually fit tight as you install it.

If you're really worried use some ARP thread sealant on the first few threads. If any squeezes out it's easy to wipe off, and it won't harden and make the fitting impossible to remove someday.

The ARP thread sealant is what I used this month when I put the top half of my engine together. I used it on all of the critical bolts and fittings, just used a little on the first few threads, just like Patrick said. If it was a fitting that showed, I then used a rag and small screwdriver and cleaned each thread. You can not tell anything was used on it.
