    Power Steering Pump replacement

on my 67 BB, I had to replace power steering pump and upon switching the reservior cases, the original has a filter and filter cage while the replacement does not. Should I go ahead and put old filter on the new pump?

One of the differences between Corvette power steering pumps and those used on other GM cars was the fact that the Corvette pumps had the fluid filter and most of the others did not.

Replacement or rebuilt pumps usually don't have the filter. I think I'd be reluctant to transfer the old one to the new pump for at least 2 reasons. First, it may not install properly on the new pump. Second, the filter element in yours is old and replacements have not been available in many years.
