C1 Spare Tire Well

I have attached a couple of pictures of what my 1958 spare tire well looks like around where the bolt goes through into the frame. Previously someone used a threaded rod for a bolt. I purchased all the correct reproduction parts to fasten the spare tire. What I don't know is what the broken out area should look like. I think it should be all fiberglass and the metal plate doesn't get used, judging by a picture in the Corvette Central parts catalog. Is that true? Does anyone have a good picture?

you have some fiberglass repair work ahead of you. a picture won't help much. make a mold off a friends c-1 trunk area floor pan, then re-glass your damaged floorpan with the mold. mike
