    Part # 1372825 ID help

Came with some Corvette parts but too old. Can anyone confirm the application? It is a vacuum advance. Thanks.

I don't think it's a Chevrolet part number and I can't find any Chevrolet application for it. In any event, I can't find it.

Thanks Joe, if you can't find it then it must not exist. The box actually has some old grease marks where the part number is listed but I've googled every variation of the first three numbers with no luck. I opened the previously sealed box and found 116009 stamped on the moveable tang. Not sure if thats the part number for the whole thing or just that component. No luck on an internet search. Any clue?

NOW we're getting somewhere . The stamped # is probably 1116009 (ie. one more '1'). Shows up in my Delco Remy Test Specifications manual DR-324S; first edition (covering) models prior to January 1, 1956.

It's really old, as does NOT show again in the 1956 to 1963 supplement, nor in the 1964 to 1976 supplement.

Other than identifying it as a distributor vacuum control unit and listing the advance specifications, this Delco source lists about 9 different distributor numbers that this vac advance would have been originally installed on. Maybe from those numbers you could trace back to the vehicle make.

Thanks Wayne. I guess I'll just throw it on eBay and see if someone needs it.

GM #1116009 is an "ancient" Delco-Remy Division part number. I don't think it's a Chevrolet application piece, though. What are the distributor part numbers you show for it?

              Used on distributor #'s 1110008 (the '6009 is one of 3 vac. adv. shown for this distr.); 1110018 (also 1 of 3); 1110030; 1110045; 1110052 ('6009' is 1 of 2 vac adv's for this); 1110061 (1 of 3); 1110062 (1 of 2); 1110063; 1110073; 1110087. Looks like 10 distrib's. in total used the 1116009.

Thanks for the info. I'm still a bit baffled why it was in a sealed Delco box with a part number listed no where close to the part inside. I guess mistakes happen.

It's not unusual, at all. Many GM parts had "dual" part numbers when the part was manufactured by an internal GM division. In this case, the 1116009 is a Delco-Remy part number. In other words, the GM part number assigned by the Delco-Remy manufacturing division.

The GM #1372825 is likely the part number which the PRIMARY utilizing division (i.e. Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, GMC, etc.) assigned to the same part.

The GM #1110052 is applicable to 1940 Chevrolet. I can't find the others.
