1959 Knock-off ornaments on wheel covers

At a recent Regional Event I was advised that original 1959 wheel covers had a burr or weld in the inside portion of the spinner. Does anyone know
about this and what it should look like inside the spinner?

    Dear NCRS Member,

What it looks like is that you had some weenie judging your car.

Poor castings and flash are a part of the process. It could vary from smooth to a flash around a part where the mold came together.

Some casting were sanded and buffed better than others.

NCRS judges should not take the liberty to touch your Corvette without first asking for your permission.

Hi Mike My experience with the knockoff ornaments are if you really want to know take the 4 screws off and look on the inside of the ornament, the origional will have two casting lugs and the reproduction will have four. I'm sure there could be an exception to this rule but I went through alot of hubcaps and spinners to get four that I was really happy with. Some of the reproductions are really good.
