    Core Support Finish

The judging manual says the core support was in place during engine compartment black out. My question is was the support painted prior to it's install or was it painted as part of, and in the same color as, the engine compartment? Additionally, were the attachment bolts painted in this process? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP.

    Re: Core Support Finish

For 70-72, they were pre painted black, then after the body was assembled, and the body painting process was done. The support would have been over sprayed in places with primer and body color. At the end of the process they were blacked out as part of the under hood black out. Naturally the attachment hardware would have been blacked also.
