First lets say that there is very little on this 69 I bought as a project that is original so it's really hard to figure out what is correct for this car. So my question is in regards to the aluminum expansion tank. The radiator in the car has a radiator cap on it however there's an expansion tank under the right front engine well fender that is not hooked up to anything, just sitting there nicely strapped in place so I'm pretty sure it came with the car. The production on this 69 was in November of 68 but the motor is a 350/350 out of a November 69 production corvette. I'm guessing that I ought to take the expansion tank out since I don't see that it has any use with the radiator I have. Any thoughts? Jim

Early 1969 L-46, usually used the aluminum GM #3155316 radiator with a supply tank.
All 1969 with 300 hp and manual transmission used the aluminum radiator with supply tank.
All 1969 with small block and M-40 and/or C-60 used a copper brass radiator with integral filler cap and no supply tank.
Later 1969 L-46 generally used the copper brass radiator with integral filler cap and no supply tank.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
