I have a SB 67 with automatic and a 67 BB (400HP) with automatic. The SB goes into reverse and drive fairly smoothly, but the BB makes a rather loud clunk, particularly going into reverse. Is that just because of the heavy-duty transmission used on BB's? Otherwise, the tranny shifts fine.

Re: 67 BB automatic clunk
Here's a link to the correct rubber parts. you need the upper and lower bushing. Some don't like the the poly replacement but I found out after I installed mine. I've had no problems. Good Luck!!!

Re: 67 BB automatic clunk
Paragon #6527K has the complete kit - upper and lower bushings, bolt, nut, washers, etc. - that's the OEM rubber cushions with a bonded washer and molded-in steel tube sleeve that keeps the diff bracket isolated from the frame bracket. The poly bushings have none of those features, and are too thin, resulting in very little clearance from the U-joint to the tunnel surface.- Top
