    Carburetor deep cleaning

Suggestion of how to deep clean (soak) 61 dual carbs in solution. Wanted to rebuild the dual carbs, but wanted something safe that will not damage the carbs. Is there anything I can buy from the Automotive parts store?

I am know expert on carb cleaning, but I would just go to the auto parts store and get the gallon size cleaner and submerge the carb in it after disassembly. Don't misplace all the little parts and remember where they go. I would take pictures. I hope to do mine soon just to dress it up a little.

i use berrymans chem dip with great results. it cost about $125 for 5 gallon. they also sell it in 1 gallon cans. remember don't get this stuff on your hands. if you live in calif it may not be sold there. The fastest acting immersion cleaner for all metal parts including alloys. Non-corrosive to metal and requires no agitation. A chemical seal retards evaporation and aids in emulsification. Removes carbon, varnish, paint, sludge, and grease fast. Use for cleaning transmissions, carburetors, valves, and other
      hard to clean parts.
