    1992 Air Conditioning Accumulator markings

Does anyone know what the correct markings were on a 1992 air conditioner accumlator/dryer and how they were orginally applied? Also, can anyone email me a photo of the correct markings? Thanks, John

There are no externally visible stampings, either embossed or ink-stamped, on the 1992 accumulator/dryer. ORIGINAL SERVICE pieces did have an ink-stamping on the top. Later SERVICE pieces had a small decal on the bottom.

By the way, SERVICE pieces, both ORIGINAL as well as current, are configured differently than original PRODUCTION parts. The ORIGINAL SERVICE piece was close to PRODUCTION configuration except that it had TWO valves whereas the PRODUCTION piece had only one. Current SERVICE pieces have significant configurational differences as well as the two valves.

      • Thanks Joe. My accumlator/dryer is the original production piece. I have no ink-stamping on the top. I have been under the impression the original production piece had an ink-stamping on the top. Shortly after taking delivery of the car, I decided to photograph the engine compartment. The car only had around 12 miles on the clock, so I thought I captured all the original markings. Of course, in my infinite wisdom, I failed to take a close up of the accumlator's top. I recently looked at that old photograph of the engine with the accumulator, but even with a magnifying glass, I don't see any stamping. Consequently, over the years and 30k miles, the stamping is gone. Hence, I have no idea what that ink-stamping said or what color it was if it was ever there. If it was there, can you tell me what it might have said and what color it was stamped in?

        John,

I have a 93 ZR-1. I inspected the unit and it does not have any marking, or stamping on the visible portions. All is original and with less that 30K.

          Thanks Ed:
Maybe the factory original accumulators did not have any markings. I'll keep this thread open, maybe others will be able to respond and report on their original dryers and maybe we can get a good feel for original ones.
