We use 3M Structural Adhesive.
Same product used to glue hood support and outer panels together.
Available at body shop supply stores.

Re: reataching C2 side pipe cover insulators
This question is much like "what's your favorite wax for lacquer?", but...
JB Weld is too runny for this application. You want something that will stay right where you put it until it sets up. You don't want to see any squeeze out through your cover's slits.
PC-7 epoxy paste can be rolled into a strip and will not run or sag. I think it's stronger than JBW, although you don't need much structural strength here.
In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to use premium construction adhesive if you have some laying around.- Top

Bill
This is an aviation/rocketry 2-part that has excellent adhesion under high heat conditions.

Re: reataching C2 side pipe cover insulators
my concern was heat not strength, true the jb weld is runny but if you put a controlled amount in the right areas it does not seem to run through.could not find the 3M, i did one with jb weld and should know in the morning, thanks- Top

Re: reattaching C2 side pipe cover insulators
Here is a picture of one of my NOS covers, you can see the gray adhesive at the bottom. Don't know what it is but it's hard as a rock. PT
