those with c3 bb's will this cherry picker work with our long noses and heavy engines

I borrowed a cherry picker before but want to buy my own..I like this one but I noticed the legs don't have extentions and the one I used I had to extend the legs out pretty far since the nose is long and the engine is a 427...so wasn't sure since this one didn't have leg extentions if it would work or not. I perfer to pull an engine from the front so want to make sure this will work.

I don't know in this particular case, but with my C2, I was not able to pull the engine from the front using a hoist which had the fold up legs.. I wound up buying one (two ton) with stationary but extendable legs.

I would contact Sam's Club and get them to give you the reach measurement... I would also check out eBay.. There are lots of the fold up type out there but if you poke around you will find a heavy duty unit with the reach you need.

Thats all I needed to hear! looking at it in person I didn't think it would so I didn't buy it on the spot..

I live in NJ and have one sitting in my garage doing nothing at the moment... You are welcome to borrow it if by chance you are near by. I have it extended to a 60" reach; from the hook back to the piston which did the trick on my C2's. The reach gets you over the center of the motor..with some room to spare. Your C3 may be a bit longer up front but I do not know for sure. I would try to measure from the center of the motor to that point at the center of your front bumper to get an idea what you actually need.

You don't want to pull a motor from the side. My buddy had one of those fold-up units and we pulled the motor out of my 1963 from the side the first time.. scared the )&%^$& out of me.. so I went on eBay and found the one I have now.. I look at it as cheap insurance.

When I pull from the front, I just lift the motor up and then roll the car back.... a much less stressful process than having 700Lbs swinging in the air over your car as you try and move the hoist!
