    The title says it all.

Yes, ...according to the judging guide the mirrors glass is dated.

Just trying to put two and two together.

I have a 67, it is a bowtie mirror, and has what we BELIEVE to be the original glass in it. But, it isn't dated.

The glass has been in that mirror since 1973.

As far as I know, every original DMI OS mirror glass for 63-67 is dated. Sometimes, the date is partially covered by the snap ring that retains the glass though.

The X-DMI-X was sand blasted on the primary (1st) surface of the glass and it was in a bit of an arc that somewhat conforms to the outer edge of the glass.

If memory serves, even the second source suppliers dated their glass (Ajax, et al) when the mirrors were supplied to the assy line. I believe the only way you got a new exterior mirror with undated glass was via service parts inventory...

Jack - Yes there was an other supplier, Ajax, for 66 & 67 for sure and possibly the other mid-years. Their glass has a production code format M-AX-# where M=production month with January being "A", Feb "B", etc; AX= manufacture's logo or marking, and the # being the last digit of the year the mirror glass was produced. My Sept 1966 build 67 Corvette has a F-AX-6 dated OSRV mirror.

Also, for what it's worth, all of the SERVICE OSRV mirror repair kits with the mirror glass I have seen have had dated mirror glass and they were DMI.

Also, many early 63's had an outside mirror glass made by Vaco.

I found several of those "mirror repair kits" years ago. The kit included the springs and retaining ring.

It is dated, and will read: month DMI year. Mine says 3 DMI 6, meaning March Donelley Mirror Inc 1966. My interior rear view mirror also has the same date and configuration. I'm sure that both my mirrors are original. Hope that helps.
