    L79 Intake manifold cleaning

I have a lot of gummy deposits in the passageways of the intake due to the deterioration of the fiberglass fuel tank in my car. I have replaced the fuel tank, cleaned the lines, rebuilt the carb and thought I was ready to install the carb, add fuel and fire her up. Using an inspection mirror I was able to view part of the passageways in the intake and found they are covered with this gummy crap. My question is, should I remove the intake and have it cleaned or is there another way to clean it with fuel additives such as Seafoam? Should I remove it anyway to see what the ports in the heads look like? Finally, if the verdict is to remove and clean, what is best way to do so?

    Thanks!!

If you do decide to remove it and have it cleaned, consider J & P Deburring Restoration in Chatsworth, California. Phone is 818-998-6079. Very nice folks and VERY reasonable.
