Soft Top Color, If you had your choice

I have a 63 saddle/saddle and replacing the soft top. What color would you put on it if it was yours? PHOTOS WELCOME!

It should be fun to choose, since this is the only thing that is not already choosen for the car.

Greg, very subjective opinion, but I'd put a black one on. Tan top with tan exterior and interior is just too much tan for me. White top seems a little 'weak', plus white gets dirty too easily. Black just seems classier. Think of a newer car, black exterior with tan leather interior. And if you're not concerned with originality, a black canvas top.

I remember a lady that had a tan/tan 63 with a tan top decades ago and it looked excellent. If I owned that combo, I would have a tan top.

By the way, it was the original top and the underside was also tan, not black.

I'd have to go with a tan top as well. If not tan then I'd probably go with white because I think they look classier than black with most colors(sorry Larry).

Then, all it would need is camo patterning, a turret mounted machine gun, and Michael Conrad at the wheel.

No one has iquired as to whether you have black wall or white wall tires. In my opinion, if you have black walls - go with the black top. If you have white walls, go with the white top. I agree that tan tan tan is too much. A little contrast sets the cars appearance off better.

When my 63 was new, it had black wall tires and a black top. When I changed to white walls, I soon after changed to a white top. Of course my car is a Daytona Blue/Dark Blue, so the contrast is great. Never get tired of it, but if some day I return to black wall tires, I will replace the top as well to return it to like original. That's where my greatest memories with it lie.

My 63 is saddle and saddle, I just went from black to tan and she looks sweet. If you still need a picture, let me know and I will try to get it to you by the beginning of the week.

It is black, I am pretty sure it is not original, I found two different types of staples. Anyway it is black on the interior also.

I did find something interesting, which is why I started doing searches here on soft top colors, one of the pads were blue color on the inside and the other pad was saddle on the inside. I found the saddle color first and thought that maybe my top was the tan original. But I guess the pads have been replaced also?
