    Clearance Questions

Looking a set of Non-correct 15X7" Rallys. Have new set of 215-70R-15" Diamond Backs Redlines. Will these fit a 67 Coupe sm block with out clearence problems? My ol 15X6" DC wheels worked fine with this combo. But just barely. Now with 15x7's questions feasibility.

if your springs are riding high you should be ok. if they are sagging you will have issues if you are cornering and hit a bump, crunching fiberglass is a terrible sound,

      Re: Clearance Questions

It depends on which type you are talking about. Corvette 7" Rallys (-0.28" offset) will probably result in wheel well lip interference.

Monte Carlo 7" Rallys (about zero offset) might result in interference with the rear spring ends.

OE Corvette 6" Rallys (0.060" offset) are tight, but okay.

Thanks to you both. Car currently has Butt Ugly Dukes of Hazzard wide Western spoke wheels. Look like 15X8"wheels? No interference. But I'm leaning towards correct 6". Hopefully without problems. The Rallys a friend has appear to be 7" Monte Carlo Date code-71 wheels. Car's a driver w/ 67 CE block.

          Jay -

Midyears are immensely intolerant of wider-than-stock wheels with non-standard offsets; folks forget that midyears were designed in 1960 around 6.70-15 tires on 5-1/2" rims.

Spot On John. As always. Just thought I'd try the cheap way out. Will investigate 15X6 DC's and ck. this 67 driver's suspension's ok.
