Re: 1960 carpet install
Michael Paragon have put a carpet install on you tube. I haven't watched it but if it's from Paragon it will be average. But none the less it's worth a watch you might pick up something worth while.Stewy

Re: 1960 carpet install
Michael...
Really don't need to a CD or DVD... Installing a carpet is quite easy.
Use a good adhesive. I like the bush over the aerosol for its easier to slide the brush under the carpet in places that need an extra dab of adhesive.
Remove the seats, sill plates, kick panels, heater cover package tray and trim. (upper & lower console and shifter plate)
Carpet will be in five pieces; order for laying a 61 that I use is:1 over the tunnel, 2 over the transmission/behind the console, 3 over the shifter in front of the console, 4 & 5 passenger and driver side.
Note; the driver side must be cut for the dimmer switch grommet. best remove the dimmer, lay the carpet in place and mark the location from under the firewall.
Pre-fit each section to practice the location and fit, for once the adhesive is brushed or sprayed on it sets very fast.
Remember to install the (4) screws. two each side or how many were originally there. Locate with a pick from the screw hole in the fiberglass
Take your time and pre-fitting for centering and aligning is important.
Al Knoch has the adhesive x the qt. and videos- Top

Re: 1960 carpet install
Heat shield... Depends what you plan to do with your car. Judging... no.
Top-up driver... good Idea, as it will reduce the heat in the cabin. My '61 does not have it, and I drive in sunny Southern California with the top-up and with the vents open. Life is good, but my wife is not along for such drives.- Top

Re: 1960 carpet install
I have Dynamat Extreme in 2 of my 62s and in my 65 coupe. It is 1/8 inch thick and conforms to the floors. In the 65 it is also in the doors and on the roof.
If you drive the cars it makes a big difference with heat infiltration into the car. It also is a fantastic sound deadener .
A good investment in comfort in the old cars.
If you buy it online it is half the cost of most catalog sellers.- Top
