Correct color for '65 L79 water pulley?

The JG indicates that the '65 s/b water pump can be semi-gloss black, green or black phosphate. Seems broad enough, but in reading the 1966 Small-Block Pulleys article in the most recent Restorer, I'm wondering if the '65 L79 with p/s but no A/C water pulley should be green? The '66 L79 2 groove water pulley is green as shown in the article.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Anthony -

This may or may not help. I believe production and service replacement parts could have different finishes/color if it functioned properly.

Mark. I'm looking at the article you and Jim Williams wrote for the recent Driveline. You show green water pump pulleys for the '66 L79 application. That's what caused me to post my question about the '65 L79 water pulleys.
      Thanks.

        Anthony -

These ratios are based on the pulley pitch diameters for '66-'67 small blocks.

        L79 327-350hp

        ------------------Ratio

        Base & L79 with C60

        ------------------Ratio
