Does anyone have a known correct picture of a 67 BB 435 Engine Timing Cover. I am needing to confirm holes and are extra dowel holes in these covers.

Re: Timing Cover 67 435 Block
If memory serves, '67 was when certain running changes were made to the timing cover (dropped the captive nut for the no longer used oil pan to timing cover bolt + added dowel pin holes). But, my memory may be foggy on this one so others can chime in.
If I'm right, then you've got an early vs. late issue to wrestle with vs. a single ended "What's correct for '67 BB?" question...- Top

Re: Timing Cover 67 435 Block
Parts book (1971 ed) indicates the change in the gasket (and thus the cover) was between the 68 and 69 model change.Bill Clupper #618- Top

The dowel pins were not added until later in the 1968 model year. However, the screw attachment for the front oil pan-to-cover did cease after the 1966 model year.
Attached is a photo of what I believe is a 1965-66 timing cover. This cover should be the same as the 67 except that the 67 MIGHT delete the captive nut. I'm not sure that some 67's had the captive nut (unused), though.Attached FilesIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Timing Cover 67 435 Block
Howie,
The following thread has some info on a change to the timing cover for 67 related to the removal of the center captive nut at the bottom.
