Judging line firewall oil line tach cable

On the line oil line and tach cable at firewall judging line I have a note on the judging sheet ( NO TAPE ). Would anyone have a picture? Is this just a wrap of the same black tape used on the smog hoses? This is on a 73 but 70-72 could be the same.

I have four 73's at home and none have the mystery tape. It's not in the judging manual so the person or persons taking the deduction is judging outside the box. Patrick help us with a picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, there's limited space on the score sheet to write comments on... Judges ARE supposed to de-brief the owners whose cars they judge. Why do we see threads on the DB asking us forensic questions about what the judges meant by this/that comment? You were there weren't you?

OK, I finally found the line item you reference. It's a sub-item of Chassis, Section 5, Engine compartment color, fire wall, hood hinges, latch support and inner skirts...

My copy of the JG book has the following text as part of the second descriptive paragraph under 'Fire wall, including oil pressure line and tachometer cable'...

"...A small piece of black cloth tape holds the oil line and tachometer drive cable together..."

What's your copy of the JG say?

Not sure I've got that one on a picture, but as Lyle says there should not be any tape on the oil line.

Someone is dreaming again.
Saw a few "dreaming" judges last Saturday, too.

It looks like 70-72 judges are taking a deduction on 73's for the tape. My 73 copy of the TI&JG says nothing about tape in that location. I have pictures of at least 25 original 73's and no tape in that location in any picture.
Patrick--are you saying no tape on your Bowtie car or just no tape on the oil line. I'll check the 73 assembly manual.

The quote I gave was taken from Page 90 of the 2nd Edition, with Updates, 1973-74 Judging Guide.

I don't figure it's an issue with '70-72 experienced judges making judgement call mistakes... That's what the current NTL has in print (for right or wrong).
