How to tell repro from original Owners Manual?

Can anyone refresh my memory on how to tell the difference between a repro 67 owners manual from a real one? I can not for the life of me remember the differences? Thanks

Ara; I have never seen a repo with the orange "Corvette News/Owner ID Card". Bill

Thanks Bill. Appreciate it. Gorgeous car by the way. I think I have seen it before at Kissimmee. Gorgeous. I picked up another owners manual for cheap, and it was in such unbelieveable shape I questioned if it was a repro. I only paid 30 bucks for it so it was worth the chance. It does have the full card in it, so it's the real deal. Thanks again. ARA

        Ara,
Another thing to look for is that any photo in original owners manual has a lot more clarity and brightness than a repro.

          Ara,
The presence of a "full" or 1/2 stub does not mean it is a real manual. As a matter of fact most original manuals have only a 1/2 card. 67 is a year where there are an awful lot of re-issue manuals with full cards for some reason. In most cases if the condition is pristine then it is a Helm Inc. re-issue. Very few originals survived without showing at least minor wear. Compare the photography side by side between an original and a re-issue and you will be able to answer your own question easily.

I have a Reproduction manual with a full card, in fact it's marked reproduction on the rear cover.

              Brian,
Yours is an obvious reproduction. The Helm re-issues are not really reproductions as Helm was the OEM supplier. Thats why I call them re-issues. Much like the NOS confusion with parts.
