    C1 Seat Tags

    I found tags

    BP 7 30 56
    M.S.&W. D 160-A
    3740252

    BP 7 30 56
    M.S.&W. M 160A
    3740251

on the frames of my seat backs.

I was surprised to see the 7/30/56 date on a May 57 car (#4176)

Can anyone translate the rest of the tag?

Tom, probably not unusual to find things like that. There are several original very late - last 100 57's produced with '56 & early 57 parts on them. Go figure. There's also a cloth tag on the bottom of the seat held on by hog ring. But most of those don't survive. Good find. Gary....

          Re: C1 Seat Tags

Tom and Steve, here's my tags. Seat backs were black so had to try to make negatives out of them. Only had one bottom tag and you can't see any print on it at all. Note the manufacturer date of 7/30/56. Roy's bottom tag is nice. Best, Gary....

My tags are black, the photos aren't the best.

                  Re: C1 Seat Tags

Dave, the unreadable cloth tag was hog ringed onto a bottom cushion like your photos. The black oblong tags were from the backs and were actually on one of the vertical wires (no hog ring) and had to be carefully cut off to remove them. Gary....
