67 Vented Gas Cap - Sealing

    67 Vented Gas Cap - Sealing

    What would be the usual way of sealing a vented gas cap for the San Jose convention hall per the Fire Marshall requirements.

    Plastic bag, piece of tape over the hole, or do I have to get a non-vented cap for my 67.

    In Boston it was blue painters tape.

      Similar deal with the ChevyVette Fest when it was held in the McCormick center in downtown Chicago... Before the car was allowed inside, a brief inspection was made that consisted of removing the gas cap, looking inside with a flashlight to verify the tank was 'approximately' 1/4 full. Then, the cap was re-installed with it's vent hole covered by masking tape and colored tape 'criss crossed' over the cap as a visual reminder NOT to remove the cap...
