    Carburetor Part Question -1961

    Hi,
I am working with my carburetor rebuilder and we are trying to confirm the correct number for the air horn. This is a 1961 single four-barrel WCFB carburetor. My NCRS tech handbook says "6-1396" and he says his judging book says "1586". Which one is correct? My car is a June car.
    Thanks,
    Jeff 45885

    Re: Carburetor Part Question -1961

Current NCRS judging literature cites the air horn casting numbers as:

    60L-61 6-1396 For 3059S WCFB
    62 Only 6-1586 For 3190/3191S WCFB

With a late build '61 like your car, I'd consider asking the NCRS Carb NTL, Gary Hodges, his opinion. Crack your copy of NCRS 'Restorer Magazine' and check the inside front cover for contact info...
