Off Topic 69 BBC Corvette Exhaust Manifolds fit on 69 GMC Pickup?

Hello All.
I realize this is off topic but, it involves corvette parts on my 69 GMC tow vehicle so I hope it will be allowed!
I recently purchased a 69 GMC 1/2 ton 396 p/s, p/b and A/c. It is really original, so I do not want to put headers on it. I do want it to run a little better. I am going to replace the exhaust with 3" pipes and mufflers. I have a set of stock manifolds from my 68 427/435 that I put headers on. I am wondering if the corvette manifolds will fit the truck? It looks like they might but I was thinking that if they would fit the factory would have used them because they flow so much better. Has anyone here done this before? If so was there any cutting involved? I don't really want to do that so if it is necessary I will probably stick to the stock log type manifolds that came on the truck. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

truck engines are tuned for torque and putting on larger size exhaust system will kill some torque. been there tried that

Hi there . its been quite a while 10 ,11 years but i did the same instalation you are speaking of on a 1970 gmc p/u using 1971 bb corvette manifolds . i know i got them to fit but i don't remember having to modify anything at all . i ran the truck for several years with that configuration then sold it ... Don.

Hello Clem,
Yea I was thinking that might be the case. And it may be a problem since I am running 3:08 and a TH400 But the quadrajet has pretty good bottom end. Plus it is a big block (all be it a little one). I have already bought the tubing and mufflers though so I think Ill give it a try. Ill save the old pipes in case I want to go back. Thanks again for the input.

Hello Donold,
I appreciate the info! I think that 71 manifolds are a litle bit different than 68-69 on one side. I think it is on the drivers side. Not shure if this happened in 71 or 72 though. Maybee someone else does?
