can any one tell me what part of the grill has the argent surface and what faces are chrome? also the judging manual refers to the brackets being riveted on and mine was secured with slot head bolts and 2 washers with a nut that look to be original.

Howdy Bill,
The 1/8" fins and oval surround should be chrome all other surfaces painted. Brackets are simi-gloss black and attached with rivits. LICS as well as CC and Paragon sell the rivits you need to use to hold the brackets to the grill. Bolts were never used. If I was smarter than my computer (which I am not!) I would send you a pic of my grill, maybe someone else can show you a close up of the 66-67 grill. Back to work! Bill- Top

Re: grill detail on 1966
HI Bill,
I & the little lady just installed the grill I bought from "GM"
back in 1978.I believe it to be correct,Hope you don"t tell me
I'm working to fast.(it only took 31 yrs to get this far)
(hope I can still get gasoline by the time I get her on the road)
But to answer your ques, the inner portion you mentioned is also
painted(silver)on mine. Also I'm told the black brackets are to be
riveted on using alum rivets, they were sent to me when I orded
the mounting brackets from cristal @ ZIP prod.I was plwased with them.
Francis (66 coupe)..good luck- Top
