Have researched the archives and found repeated recommendations NOT to remove the upper inner pivot shaft due to the difficulty involved and the possibility of cross-threading. Right now, my upper A arm is attached to the crossmember by the inner shaft and bushings and I'm trying to figure out how to clean, replace the seals and repaint without pulling out the shaft. One archive post said that the A-arm could be removed by removing the bushings and leaving the shaft in place. Also, a fellow chapter member said that once restored, the A-arms should fall freely to the crossmember and my unrestored arms are pretty tight right now and do not fall freely. Is this correct? Sorry for the long post but would welcome any comments. Thanks all.
