    68 Vented Gas Cap Test?

How does one determine if the gas cap (vented) is not fuctioning properly? What would be the symptoms?

    Jack -

Generally, if you shake the cap, it should rattle; if it rattles, it's probably OK.

John I tried your shake the gas cap suggestion to see if my original owner 68's original vented gas cap would rattle.

John it did not rattle. What is not seen inside my 68's gas cap that would make the rattle?

        A vacuum/pressure valve.
