    1955 265 v8 heat riser

I am looking for a heat riser valve for my 55 vette (265 v8). Does anyone know where I can find one?

Don't know how much this will help, but it appears the original part was P/N 3721509, used '55 only, and replaced in service by 1957 with part number 3721981, for all the v8 applications using the two bolt exhaust. pass car and Corvette used the same part as did some early trucks, so you might try one of the vendors for '55-56 pass car stuff to see if there is a reproduction available, or a sourct for used ones.

Al, check with Pete (918) 968-2366 on Monday 9-5 CDST or Gary Pronesti (352)638-5778 both are NCRS Members. Pete has alot of 55-7 passenger car original and repro parts and may know or have a 55 heat riser. Couple of weeks ago he had several NOS 57 heat risers. Good luck, Gary....

            Thanks Gary

I have the original large tomb stone type #3713335 but the flange is cracked. I'm looking into wheter it's worth it to repair the one I have. I'll give them a call. I was surprised no one had any of these around. I guess the judging manual is not specific about tomb stone size, just that there's a number on it to show it's GM.

I'm helping the new 55 JM with pic's that will be in the next one showing the design which only 55 used , the repro's have the numbers scratched in where the original's are cast in . I rarely see one on e-bay for sale because most people don't know what they look like. The few people that know original usually sell for around $100.00

the repros are the small tomb stone as well. have not seen one with the larger. Thanks for the number. Mine was a large tomb stone but different number. Must have been a replacement. Appreciate the info.
