C1 hood weatherstripping-which way is up?

I was recently told that my hood weatherstripping was upside down on my '58. Installed and with the hood open, the weatherstripping is shaped like a "U". I have the "U" facing UP, open toward the ceiling (or sky if looking at it outside!) Anyone want to confirm before I remove and reinstall. All the JG talks about is length and cement color and the archives didn't address for a C1.

Here is a photo from a 59 at the Tahor Regional. Does this look correct ?

Thanks, that is just how mine looks and I was told by a judge that it was incorrect, that it was upside down, that the opening instead of facing up should face down. So lets see if anyone else can confirm what is correct.

Here's a section through the hood seal from the '57 A.I.M.; don't know if the seal was the same as '58.

Don and John-thanks very much for the picture-it shows that the weatherstripping is attached more to the hood and not to the lip as mine is. Also shows the liberal use of glue--thanks for clearing it up. Seems like I now can take it off and reset it in its proper place. And the drawing confirms what the picture shows.
