    63-5 Fan Shroud seal

Pulled the '65 fan shroud out today to try to make some progress, attaching the new seal.
I cannot remember who I bought the new seal from, but IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE! It is the wrong MATERIAL, wrong THICKNESS (.090 vs .140 real) and the wrong DESIGN.
The two JGs that I have refer to them as being held by five staples and about 3" wide. The real one is JUST ABOUT 3" wide at its widest point and the staple count is correct. But how do TWO judging guides miss such basics?

    Re: 63-5 Fan Shroud seal

Loren -- My early '65 small block shroud has 7 staples (crimped side-up) and is 3_3/4" at the middle, tapering to 2_1/2" at one end and 2_3/8" at the other. So I guess, by the 5th ed. '65 TIM&JG, I'm "atypical" on 2 counts .

Loren, of the 3 i have one has 5 staples one has 8 and the other 9, about the only thing consistent is the seal goes on the bottom and the staples are crimped on the top, yes the repo seal fits like a saddle on a sow. cary
