More rare? FI 7014900 or FI 7017200?

    More rare? FI 7014900 or FI 7017200?

    Which FI unit would be considered more rare? The 7014900 or the 7017200?

    I know where there are plenty of 4900 units. I can think of only one 7200 unit I could put my hands on. So, based on that unscientific knowledge, the 7200 looks to be the more rare item.

      Jim is right for sure. What is unique though about the LHP 7200 unit is that it was one of the first FI's with a built in siphon valve in the fuel meter. The unit came out in '59 I believe. The 7250 also had the built in anti-siphon valve.
      Marvin, The 7200 was used from 59 to 61. Production qty is 238. Also 4 service replacements were sold over the counter. Used only on the Corvette and not the passenger car.
      I don't have accurate figures on the 4900-4900R but I do have know that at least 1867 units went down the St. Louis line. Only 2 service units recorded on my sheet.
      The 2 SR's is totally incorrect. Frank Scabica once told me to ignore any figures I might read on service replacement units as they were not accurate.
      4900's are everywhere. I have only restored a couple of dozen (max) 7200's throughout the years.
      Last note; From 10 ft both units the 4900 and 7200 look the same.
      Actually the 4900 (R), 7200 and 7250 look the same from 10 ft away. All 3 units uses the same plenum.(4944) Called using up inventory. JD
