Could some one tell me what the orientation of the clamp on the 3/4 inch heater hose where it connects to the water pump? Is the screw head on the clamp on the top or flipped over with the head on the bottom? Or does it matter? Thank you Dale

Where are the Corbin (spring type) used?
Don't have an AIM / JM or original picture files handy.

Re: 67 SB w/ C-60
The AIM does indeed call for a special clamp at the 3/4" heater hose water pump fitting for cars with A/C.
Supposedly, it's a screw/nut style clamp, very similar to the clamps used at the short coolant supply tank to "T" fitting hose.
The special clamp at the water pump end of the 3/4" hose is part number 111608. (AIM UPC C60, sheet B3)
The clamps at the "T" fitting at the coolant supply tank are part number 111607. (AIM UPC 11-13 sheet A4)
The clamps used at the other locations for the 3/4" hose are the same spring ring style used for regular production.
I doubt there is a special installation orientation for the 111608 clamp. There is no note in the AIM so that would suggest that either installation direction is acceptable, both at St Louis assembly and for restoration.- Top

Re: 67 SB w/ C-60
Kirk,
In the 66 AIM, UPC 1, sheet 7, a spring ring style clamp is shown as 272852 for cars without A/C. The same spring ring clamp used for all other 3/4" hose locations on that car.
In the 66 AIM, the 3/4" heater hose clamp is shown as a different part number than the typical spring ring clamp that was used on non A/C cars. (C60, sheet D3) It's a 111608. The clamp is the same basic style as that used at the coolant supply tank short hose. (but with some slight difference) It would likely look like the one that Dale shows in his picture above.
I assume that the 67 AIM shows the same unique clamp for small block A/C cars?- Top

Re: 67 SB w/ C-60
I knew of a very original 67 many years ago that still had it's original heater hoses and there was a worm adjustable style clamp at this location. I wonder if that may have been the 905 number?
Below are the AIM sheets for 66 with and without A/C.Last edited by Michael H.; September 23, 2009, 05:11 PM.- Top
