    67 SB w/ C-60

Could some one tell me what the orientation of the clamp on the 3/4 inch heater hose where it connects to the water pump? Is the screw head on the clamp on the top or flipped over with the head on the bottom? Or does it matter? Thank you Dale

    Hello Dale;
Where are the Corbin (spring type) used?
Don't have an AIM / JM or original picture files handy.

My 67 SB with C60 has a corbin clamp in that spot, 2 chapter, 1 regional & 2 national TF's without a mention.

            Dale,

The AIM does indeed call for a special clamp at the 3/4" heater hose water pump fitting for cars with A/C.
Supposedly, it's a screw/nut style clamp, very similar to the clamps used at the short coolant supply tank to "T" fitting hose.

The special clamp at the water pump end of the 3/4" hose is part number 111608. (AIM UPC C60, sheet B3)

The clamps at the "T" fitting at the coolant supply tank are part number 111607. (AIM UPC 11-13 sheet A4)

The clamps used at the other locations for the 3/4" hose are the same spring ring style used for regular production.

I doubt there is a special installation orientation for the 111608 clamp. There is no note in the AIM so that would suggest that either installation direction is acceptable, both at St Louis assembly and for restoration.

Thank you Michael. I will install it with the screwhead on top. Dale

                  Kirk,

In the 66 AIM, UPC 1, sheet 7, a spring ring style clamp is shown as 272852 for cars without A/C. The same spring ring clamp used for all other 3/4" hose locations on that car.

In the 66 AIM, the 3/4" heater hose clamp is shown as a different part number than the typical spring ring clamp that was used on non A/C cars. (C60, sheet D3) It's a 111608. The clamp is the same basic style as that used at the coolant supply tank short hose. (but with some slight difference) It would likely look like the one that Dale shows in his picture above.

I assume that the 67 AIM shows the same unique clamp for small block A/C cars?

                    Michael -

Yes, it does (same sheet number) - calls out the side-screw clamp for that location (111608 or 9420906); a Corbin clamp wasn't used there with A/C.

So, I have the wrong clamp there. Is that what we're saying here? Are these clamps available in repro? Thanks.

As do I. I have yet to see that style clamp on a SB 67 with A/C. Where is Joe Randolf.

Thanks John. Looks like the 67 AIM added a second/optional part number (94209056) for this clamp that isn't in the 66 AIM.
I knew of a very original 67 many years ago that still had it's original heater hoses and there was a worm adjustable style clamp at this location. I wonder if that may have been the 905 number?
Below are the AIM sheets for 66 with and without A/C.

That sure looks like a worm clamp in picture #3 item #4.
