63 coil ballast resistor

    63 coil ballast resistor

    My ballast resistor has died on me and I need to replace it. I found out that there are 2 different replacements available, one with a black dot (0.3 Ohm) and one without the dot (1.8 Ohm). I have a 327/300hp, manual car, so which one do I have to order. Thanks Ruud

    If you still have the OE coil, what is the part number? That will determine which ballast is correct.

    The was a running change in coil/ballast utilization on the 250/300 HP engines during the '63 model year.

      Rudd. 087 coil typically used a D1110, 091 coil typically used a D111 ballast resistor.
      Now your 300HP probably has an 087 therefore the D1110 BR. John
      P.S. I think the 5th edition covers this but I am not sure.
