69' L71-What oil to use?

I recently purchased a 69' L-71 427 I need to change the oil, and was considering Mobil One 15w50wt. Will this be ok? I am located in Texas.
Any suggestions for this solid lifter big block?

Hi Richard. Welcome to the group. Do a search on this site on motor oil and you'll find enough reading to keep you busy for hours. I think you'll find the Mobil 1 will not be the oil of choice by our resident experts.

I use valvoline 20/50vr racing oil. Has plenty of zinc and is formulated for gasoline engines.

Are you guys going to convert to Bio-Diesel. That is one way to go green.
