    Window Sticker

I purchased a repro blank window sticker for my 1970. Just to have when I show the car. I would like to fill it out properly with the correct type set.
I have all the correct info for the car, but I would like to see one properly done so I can copy it.

Check other threads. There is a company that will print one for you. You choose the options, etc. They will laminate. There are also other sites or purchase The Black book for corvettes that has all the pricing options...John

        Les:

The guys at www.window-sticker.com (Triple-A Enterprises) will make one for you that's as close to correct as you'll find anywhere; just give them your information.

Understand, the window sticker is a 'must have' item at Bloomington Gold (judging standard is as the car was built and shipped from St. Louis), but a 'detriment' at NCRS (judging standard is as built WITH then current dealer prep--dealer prep would have removed the sticker in the interest of driver visibility/safety)....

On making one that's 'correct' from a blank form, you'll first have to ask yourself where you're goint to get a Teletype 33 to print it with... I know of nobody who offers a 'TTY' font set for various Windows/word processor programs.

Also, if the sticker is laminated, expect to lose points at Bloomington. The judges want to see stickers affixed as the factory originally applied them (naked-no plastic laminate) and lines of rubber cement (early) or full face glue (late). Double sided Scotch tape is typically another deduction issue at BG...

Jack H. my Chevy/Buick dealer left the window sticker on my 70 Corvette.
I carefully removed in intact and still have it.

              Re: Window Sticker

My original 63 is in my book in a protective liner. I got a repro from Triple "A" to put on my car's window for shows (not judging), and I leave it on there year around. Live here in Florida where I rarely put my top up, and only put the windows up at the shows. When we lived up North, I had to attach it seasonally. The Triple "A" piece looks very good, including the serial number and op items type font, etc. It just looks too good, i.e. no aging - but I have had it on so long here it's starting to come around.

Also, should mention I bought a bunch of blanks too and I tried with everything at my disposal in the GM publications Department (where I worked) to put together a good one w/o success. I could come close on the type font, but could not get the right letter and line spacing - to say nothing about the stamped serial number. Finally gave up and purchased some from Triple "A".
